List,
In an earlier post, I listed the resources for Army Painting and
Marking of Military vehicles. I wish I had more information about the
Marine Corps painting and marking program but all I have is the
following. Marine Corps Guide For Camouflage Paint Patterns, dated 3 Jan
1977. The manual number is NAVMC 2666. The patterns look just like the
Army's and I suspect that the marking system used is the same too? I do
know that the Marine's painted there vehicles in special patterns for
different missions. On both of the M38A1's that I own have the National
Symbol (Star) painted on them just like the Army. These jeeps were
Marine Corps and the responsible agency listed on the dash plates for
both the body and chassis is the Marine Corps. Also known is the Marines
had there own colors for there vehicles, although I have seen several of
there vehicles in the good old Army color schemes. Does anyone else on
the List have more information on Marine Corps Painting and Markings?
Thanks in advance.
