A little known problem with the Dodge engines results from the water
distribution tube not functioning properly. It is a long tapered metal tube
located behind the water pump that extends all the way to the back of the
block. It is designed to deliver water to top ends of the cylinders evenly.
Over time they rust out or become clogged and can't provide enough water to
adequately cool the cylinders, thus run hot. They can be a real nightmare to
remove if it has never been taken out. Something for you to check out. John
