The same people who brought us ABS. I lost a hose once on my ABS equipped car.
That wheel (with no braking ability) told the ABS computer that all the other
wheels (the ones that still had brakes) were skidding (lying) and effectively
turned of all braking ability. With ABS disconnected (and one wheel still with
no brakes) it didn't stop too bad.
