[MV] (MV)'42 Chevy Firetruck

A friend has offered me a 1942 U.S. Army fire truck. It uses the commercial
cab on a 160" wheelbase with a pumper/hose unit in back. The Chevrolet data
plate shows it to be a 1942 commercial chassis. The dash plate says it was
delivered to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in July, 1943. The original
paint was OD with a Corps of Engineers castle on each door. It runs and
drives but needs a general restoration. The asking price is $750.

I wonder if military vehicles that are OD civilian models are accepted as
*real* military vehicles by the MV fraternity? Do these things have anywhere
near the value of real MVs? (I guess if I had it, I could take it to MV
events to cool off over-heating M37s).

I'd appreciate your comments.--Sam Hamilton
