Hi Shon, the 'Mystery truck' looks to me to be a 1 1/2 ton late 30s-40s
Federal. I agree with the gent who doesn't think it is a Diamond T, as I
also had two of them. The rear window looks to be Diamond T, but the
headroom of the cab nixes that idea. If there was any way to get a pic of
the grill and the front sheet metal, that would tell the story. If no one
guesses what it is, I know a person who can. In Jerome, Arizona,
northwest of Phoenix, there is the best collection of old trucks I have
ever seen, over 200+. It is one man's show called the "Gold King Mine."
He knows 'everything' about old trucks. He also has a vast collection of
really neat stuff like a 14 foot sawmill powered by a WW2 diesal
submarine engine! And for us Mil Veh fans, a weasal and other trucks.
Jerome City even uses a 5 ton dump truck with a snow plow for the winter,
gotta love it!! If anyone is in the area, plan on sending the wife to the
tourist shops and spending the day looking over this collection. He only
charges a few bucks.
Let us know when you find out what it is, I don't think it will be too
hard once you see the front end. Good luck on the WCs, a collective
thanks for saving them from a rusty end------------if only trucks could
talk!!!
