[MV] Carb problem ?

This week I mentioned how well my 3/4 ton WC's drive, and now the
Command Car wont talk to me at all. The engine wont run at all
without 1/3rd choke, and wont develop any real power without full
choke, not a lot of use really.

I replaced the fuel hoses some time ago, I've tried swapping the fuel
pump, and pulling the top of the (Carter) carb to clean the accessible
jets, but all to no avail, it still wont run right. I'm fairly
confident that the tank, filter, pump, and lines are OK, as some time
ago I filled the fuel tank with water whilst doing some structural
welding, and then purged it through with fuel afterwards. As a result I
have been cleaning out the fuel filter and pump bowl quite regularly.
The fuel inlet and float cutoff seem to be OK too (checked while the
top was off), plus the inside of the carb is relatively clean, and I
drained down through the float bowl plug.

Anyone on the list have experience with the Dodge Carter carbs,
particularly which jets are liable to get blocked and how to clean
them? I've already checked the main jet and the other unit in the
centre which is only accessible with the top off, which ones have I
missed and how do I get to them? To further aggravate me I have
discovered that it should have a Zenith carb, and that I only have the
manual for the Zenith carb since it is an early edition. Thoughts
anyone? Gordon, falkirk, Scotland
