Was working on my engine and finally got enough of the crud off to read all
the numbers without question.
Engine number R MD 29130 upper block
646228-w-12-D-Ar lower block
I had mentioned to someone that I had an R before the MD and was told that
this engine was a factory replacement engine made for the military. Does
anyone know if this is correct.
When I also mentioned the lower block numbers I was then told that this
engine is not military by another person. Hence my dillema.
Does anyone have any information on engine numbers for the M38A1. Having
absolutely no data plates on the Jeep I am trying to track down any information
in regards to the engine numbers. Date of MAnufacture, made for U.S. or Canada
ect ect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
