Hey Men,
I bought a 1944 Ford T-16 APC in 1986. I LOVE IT!!! Me and my high =
school buds (with a little help from pop) completely restored all bogie =
wheels, bearings, races, etc., (along with the entire exterior hull) and =
had the wheels re-rubberized (or vulcanized or whatever you call it). =
The unit had been housed indoors by an electric utility since post-war =
purchase, and was in excellent shape already. Unfortunately, they =
ditched the upper armor section. Not being of the restorer type at age =
15 (yeah, I'm only 26), much less having the cash to do so, I opted to =
make my APC the ultimate full-track cruising machine. I replaced the =
pads in the planetary, put an instrumentation box on (since there was =
none) and lots of other stuff. So I still have the baddest 35mph full =
track vehicle most high school kids will ever dream of (this statement =
is, at best, a biased opinion). These days, other responsiblities =
distract me from the outdoors, such that I only drive my APC twice a =
year.
Would anyone like to say what they think this T-16 may be worth, because =
I think I'm about ready to "cash out". I'm near Florence, SC, by the =
way. Thanks for your input! - Andrew Nights 803-326-5061
