[MV] MB Variation?

When looking through a vet's collection of photos, I noted one taken mid '45
in Italy. It shows a MB (GPW?) with a litter rack that places\ two litters
above the driver/roofline, and one next to the driver. The unusual feature
is that the passenger door opening appears to be deleted - the side is even
from the tool boxes to the firewall. My questionis - is this a legitimate
variation, a field modification or ??? Examination of the photo indicates
that the side panel looks factory - with typical spot welds and a squared off
top edge. The hood number begins with 2025 (I think), with the rest out of
the picture.
Thoughts or comments?
Anybody out there with litter racks for sale for MB/GPW? I'd like to find a
pr to mount over hood to complete Medical Dept. Jeep...
