Hello Tony

It is perfectly fine to shift between F1 and F2 on the fly. However,
never, never shift between high and low range on the go!!!!!! Another
nver is to allow the vehicle to drift backward even an inch unless it is
in reverse. I own a 1951 M-211. I had problems with my transmissio0n
twice. I find that most problems with the trans are minor. The
shifting problem from 3rd to 4th is probably in the control box on the
drivers side of the transmission. I found the ONLY way to keep mine
functioning properly is to use and abuse it reguarly. Tese boxes have
valves in them that make the shifts occur. They tend to stick if not
used. Also, Instead of the motor oil the TM calls for, I run DEXRON
tranny fluid in mine. I have had allover to shaw and such for the last
10 years. It works. Hope this helped.
