Mark;

If your M715's 230 gave up the ghost, and you are not a stickler for being
original, DONT put a 230 back in, they are trouble prone engines that were the
main weakness of the M715 series. I would strongly suggest a small block
Chevy, a 350 being a good choice. They are a cheap, reliable engine that will
offer much better performance for you. You will need a motor mount adapter kit
and an adapter plate to bolt to your T98, both of which are available from
Novak Ent and (I think) Advance Adapters. This is a much better option,
although the motor mounts and adapter plate will set you back about $300+ it
will make everything a drop in replacement and allow easier change overs to
power steering if you want. The radiator in the stock 715 is NOT sufficient
for the V-8, and barely so for the 230,m so a bigger radiator would be a good
thing, although I have a stock radiator in a conversion I have that has done
the trick (it does run hot, though) A V-8 swap makes a good truck a great
truck.
