Dave, if you will get about 5 miles to the gallon. I get 5 to 7MPG in mine.
It is hardto
maintain a speed of 50MPH in these trucks. They pull down real fast on
hills. The front axle will disengage at highway speeds.

Subject: [MV] XM211 Question

I am looking at buying a GMC XM211 - 1952 that has a REBCO Shift kit
installed. It was used to apply asphalt seal coat tar. Other than the
goofy paint job and the incorrect bed/tank, it is in pretty good shape body
wise. Neither I nor the owner knows if it runs, since it has been sitting
for about 2 years. It is gas powered.

I want to actually use this truck for hauling wood/steel and pulling a
trailer and was wondering if anyone knows what kind of gas mileage these
trucks get on the highway at 50 mph or so?

The truck has 27,000 miles on the odometer. The truck has 6:17 gears.

Can this truck disengage the front wheels or is it always in all wheel
drive?

Any opinions/comments/suggestions are welcome.

Dave
