Hi gang,

We brought the '42 GPW and '46 CJ-2A home today. The GPW is reasonably
complete condition with exception of typically missing top bows. Even
the footman loops and rear footrests are still in place. The rear panel
with the Ford Script is in very good condition. Major modification
includes steering column/gearbox has been replace with Ford LTD column.
This move necessitate the changing of the steering set-up. Bellcrank
and draglink are gone. Steering gearbox linked via very short draglink
to trailing arm attached to left hub assembly. The tie rods had
inboard ends removed, a solid rod inserted and welded solid between
them. In effect, the left hub now steers the right via the solid
fron rod. Also, due to steering conversion, the mastercylinder has been
changed. Otherwise, it is in pretty decent condition. Typical rust
spots, but even the gas tank well is still there and not even badly
rusted.

CJ-2A is another story. Engine, I was told, has a thrown rod. The body
has typical rust and bondo. Winshield has been highly modified to
single piece construction. Drivetrain is intact. The column mount
shift still works well. Overall, not a total loss. This vehicle will
be parted out. If interested in parts, contact me off the list and I
will let you know of availability.

Now, some questions.

1) Will the CJ-2A steering column fit in an MB or GPW?

2) Will the transmission skidplate from the CJ-2A fit my '43 GPW?

3) Will parking brake handle and cable from CJ-2A work in an MB or GPW?

4) Are CJ-2A and MB/GPWs transfers the same and interchangeable?

Thanks everyone and sorry for the long-winded posting?
