and will need it transported to Florida. Can anyone reccomend a
reliable
transport company? Any idea of the costs involved? If I rent a tow
dolly
will my Nissan 4 cylinder pick-up
have a hard time pulling a jeep 1,500 miles, mostly interstate travel?
Any help would be greatly appreciated....Jim Hensley

Unless you can get a heavier truck, IE 1/2 ton/ full size van I'd think
about alternatives. Pulling a vehicle that is about the same weight as t=
he
tow vehicle is no fun. Hit the brakes and pray.

A couple ideas come to mind. =

-Transport company, easy, hands off, etc.
-Fly or drive to Illinois, rent a Uhaul Pickup truck and trailer and make=
a
one way trip to Florida.
-Fly or drive to Illinois and rent a diesel (cheaper of fuel) cube van fr=
om
Ryder, Penske and do a one way.
-Rail? You used to be able to transport a car/truck to Florida fairly
cheaply via a standard car carrier.
- Do you know anyone in the trucking business hauling oranges up north? =

What do they haul back?

Check out alternatives for truck rentals, the prices are all over the
place. I recently moved last year and was able to rent a 24'
diesel box truck from Budget/Sears quite reasonable. It got about 10 mpg=

fully loaded! I think they do one ways also. You could probably get by
with an 18' box and save some money. Don't forget that you need some ram=
ps
or a loading dock to load a box truck. Or at least a small hill and some=

substantial planks.
