During my quest for information I found out that "Patricks" truck parts
sell pistons and bearing for the 302. The parts aren't cheap. But they
also sell high performance pistons and intake manifolds and even camshaft=

for the 302. Apparently the 302 straight six was sometimes swapped into=
smaller 1/2 ton trucks as a high performance upgrade. I just happen to
have a 270 straight six in my '56 GMC pickup. The 302 six has much bigge=
r
valves than the 270, but apparently it is the same block design.
