[MV] Steering Wheel Removal???

I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to remove my steering wheel in order to replace
the upper/lower bearings and get the horn button assembly correct. I have
followed the manual in using a steering wheel puller with no success. It
didn't budge. Then, as a result of using the puller, the top threads for
the locking nut collapsed and the top is now deformed.

Does anyone have any suggestions for removing a very stubborn wheel? I
think threads can possibly be cleaned/fixed and if not, I believe that
center rod with the worm gear is still available.

Please help!
