This message is in regard to engine oil in a M151A2. I put 15w 40 in my
mutt because the hood said it was last put in there. A former motor pool
mechanic told me I should put the same oil in there because any thinner
oil would probably leak so I did. Is this the correct viscosity? In the
summer (80-95°F) the thing runs super hot and I have to pull over to let
it cool down. In the winter (20-40°F) the jeep runs really good. I don't
know if this is attributed to the oil weight. Since the subject came up
I was wondering if I put the correct oil in.
