I tried to avoid jumping in on this string and hopefully Aurthur will axe it
but I can't remain quiet. One of the main reasons we should be preserving
military vehicles is to remember how much war sucks and that it brings out the
worst in man; not to collect trophies or glorify war. My wife is half
Japanese. Her grandparents were farmers out west during the war. When her
grandfather was told he was going to lose the farm and his family would be
imprisoned he couldn't believe it would happen in America. He kept farming
until the day came when they were forced to leave. They could only take what
they could carry. They piled all the rest of their worldly possessions in the
front yard and burned them. Not to minimize the atrocities committed by the
Japanese but remember when you use a term like 'Jap' you're slapping hard
working Americans who were screwed by our government.
