I'm still pursuing 2 1/2 ton trucks for few bucks. I found another one
that has been damaged, the owner thinks?
The truck stopped running for some reason, so the owner put a chain on it=
and towed it for a couple miles without taking the trans or transfer case=
or? out of gear. That truck (XM211 - 6x6) had an automatic trans with a=
divorced transfer case. What kind of damage if any might be placed on th=
e
transfer case if this happened? Any ideas?
Obviously spinning a trans like this while in gear is not a good idea. B=
ut
I have to believe that more than one XM211 was towed incorrectly while in=
military service. How tough were these transmissions?
Any idea on what the going price is for XM211 transfer cases if it is
needed?
