If it is a small tank you can do the following,,, go to a marine store get
some Liquid epoxy. Drain and clean out the tank. Let it dry. Clean the
outside of the tank with sandpaper, put some duct(that silver tape is NOT
DUCK TAPE)tape on the out side of the hole. Mix the epoxy and pour in to
the tank. Move the tank till the epoxy mix covers the hole and let stand.
It lasted at least 5 years on a boat tank I had.

I had a hole in my tank. I drained the tank. Then I sanded the area down.
Next I smeared metal-type epoxy around the hole. Then I took fiberglass
and
spread over the epoxy and then put more epoxy on the fiberglass. It has
held
for more than six months and is harder than a rock. Works great.
