Hi ... again

My GPW - ex British Army, then Greek Army, now mine... came equiped with a
mixture of bits, GPW, MB, Hotchkiss and a block with the following serial
number:

MC 70723

It has a Ford Head.

Is this a post war replacement engine designed to upgrade the wartime one?
Or was there a Willys MC?

The only major difference I can see is that the Water Drain plug is behind
the Oil filler tube where you can get to it easily. Also there is not timing
chain - instead a type of fibre gearing. I did about 4,000 miles last year
and needed to add about 1 pint of oil... about the same oil consumption as I
get on my 1994 Vauxhall Hatchback!

Does anyone know where I can get a manual for such engine, and are there any
special things to watch for.

Many Thanks

Tim Bell
