Hello All,

One thing that I have learned through towing vehicles is that on larger
trucks with dual rear axles the wheelbase is not from the front axle to the
farther rear axle like commonly believed. The actule wheelbase is the
front axle to the midpoint between the two rear axles. On going up a grade
this would make a difference between a truck with a single axle placed as
far back as the last axle on a tandem truck. In essence the single axle
vehicle would be able to climb a steeper grade. When you actually apply
this physics I do not know how much difference this makes, the tandem axle
truck has about a two foot shorter wheelbase. Well for whatever that is
worth there is my 2 cents.
