Me and my brother got a Willys home today. It is our second Willys (along
with 5 other cars).
This MB was imported to Norway in 1947, and has never been used by the
Norwegian Army.
We were told that it has its original engine, but we need some help to
comfirme this.
Can anyone help us?
The vehicle carries serialnumber 297152 on the frame, and as fare as we
know it was delivered on January 10. 1944
The engine has serial # 40245 and the question is, is this the "right"
engine"?
For you spessially interessted the first sivil owner was working at "Office
of the Foreign Liquidation Commissioner". The vehicle was first registred
in Norway on May 31. 1947
In the papers it is also stated U.S.A. Serial # 5536639 What does this
mean?
The vehicle is in a terrible state today, and it nedds a total rebuild.
Everyting has to be dismantled, but hopefully it will be restored and ready
for the road in two Years.
