Shaun,

Again it depends upon the era you want to depict. I drove one of those rigs
in Vietnam and while we had the helmets with the red cross on the circle as
you described, we also had a standard issue camo cover on the helmet.

As for other equipment, in the field we carried a pile of stuff, some of it
personal some of it issue.

Personal stuff always included a mermite container full of ice and soda.
Don't leave home without one! There were always a few extra 50 cal ammo
boxes that were rigged to carry personal stuff to include a standard auto
stereo set mounted in the box with speakers and a power wire with clips to
hook up to one of the batteries under the seat. Your own personal stove if
you could get one, they were not issued to us. We also found a tool box as
the issue tools were not enough to even change your mind!

Issue stuff included our aid bags, a large surgical box filled with extra
medical supplies, a blanket set and spare litters.
