Hello MV listers, I've been reading the mail and have even read your
archives and must say I admire the "quality content". As the recent
purchaser of a nice '53 M-37, I seek some basic wisdom on the model. First
of all, while my M-37 runs and drives it has absolutely no brake pressure .
Should I rebuild the existing master cylinder, find a new one [sources
anyone?], or upgrade to a more powerfull system ? From what I've seen in the
archives these brakes are marginal even when 100% functional! My long term
intent is to maintain a mostly original truck but to use it occasionally on
and off local roads [ a real working truck ]. Secondly, my truck is equiped
with a hard cab that I assumed was after market , but as paint is slowly
removed, it appears to be olive drab as original coat. The top has an oval
rear window, was this G.I.? The dash data plates say:ORD Stock #
G2741-8358322, Model T245, Ser. # 80259985. Thanks in advance for what I
know will be a great help.
