Hi Dave,
Manifold: Cost is the big thing. Replacement is my personal favorite.
P Brake: Must have item; especially for inspection (unless you're
getting lobster plates)

Hello List,

Finally got one 52 M-37. Runs great except two minor items. Am looking
for advice.

1. Exhaust manifold has a crack in upper right hand corner near forward
bolt hole. (Sounds like a lawn boy)
Some of my "gear head buddies" say no problem welding it (cast iron
version) cracked 1/4-3/8" x 1 " long or would replacing be best ?

2. During transport back home the hand brake assembly thought it would be
nice to engage at 35 mph. Needless to say is self destructed. (Major
laundry problem 2nd to really loud crash should)No damage except metal hand
brake plate gone and band broken. Upon inspection it appears as if it was
wired together only so-so. Question should this be a major gotta fix item
or if parked on level ground in gear be ok until "later"

Thanks for the advice.

Daryl Lehman
52 M-37
