Guys:
Thanks for all the feed back. Through a reply I found a small mouth
Philipine tank which is what I needed. Many of you sugjested that I should
use the origional tank (it was missing) or get one and have it repaired
(which was a-bit outside my budget and available time). My jeep "Thelma"
is more of a good cosmetic rebuild than a strict restoration, her primary
use will be in WWII reenactments as a command / gun jeep of the British 1st
Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron,CHS, so I have built for strength and long
term use rather than resto points. As such, a repro tank is just fine and
will prevent one of the most comman of failures in the field, clogged fuel
lines.
Now for the question. Has enyone used chemical tank coatings which
they would recomend? How do they hold up to this new fuel with methonol
and oxygenators? After the stories about leaking phillipine tanks I am
thinking of putting a coating into the new tank right off the bat but don't
know what to use. Thanks again for the help.
