The site called www.olive-drab.com was created for your situation. It has a
lot of material which answers basic questions, links to other sites and
organizations, plus lists of dealers and so on. It should provide a good
start.

Particularly look at the quick start, "5 things to do right away" in the
Guide to Military Vehicles section.
