MOST GM alternators from the 70-80's will run with one wire. I have two
vehicles running that way right now. There is no problem. You need to decide
where you want the adjusting bracket hole in relationship to the mounting holes
and the 2 pin plug if you use it. With one wire you must 'flash it over' with
about 2000 rpms. Once flashed it is fine untill you shut it off.
