Hi Bob, they built two ' WC 53 special, Field Command Limo' or some
such title, fairly well documented in most of the MV and Dodge books.
The 'Dodge Military Vehicle - Collection No 1' book has a reprint of a
U.S. article on them, VanDer Veen books have a photo.

Basically two WC 53s with 4 doors and a drivers / passengers division
(hence the Limo bit in the designation) Whole list of extra equipment
like beds, tables, front windscreen pillar mounted spotlights, roof
rack, etc, and with the radio ariel bracket and brace moved back. They
were handbuilt from standard carryalls, as I recall. Two serial
numbers are known. Not sure if the rear doors stayed lift /tailgate or
if they were real doors (which would be a bit more use with the drivers
compartment separate. The article does refer to a blueprint or drawing
number they were based on that might be worth seeing.

Given the lack of room in my WC 53, which is standard apart from the
bolt-on winch, they must have used feeler guages to build the things
with all the extra equipment. Reproducing one would make a nice
project for someone with a dog rough WC53 lying around, and I suspect
that most of the work would be in fitting the side doors. I considered
fitting two cut-down ambulance doors with door jams and pillars but it
would need to be done right or it would just look horrible. The spare
wheel stayed in the same place, so the rear side doors were quite
short. The whole thing was one of those good ideas that didn't quite
work. I'd still like to find a set of (really cheap) REAR doors and
hardware, as the liftgate / tailgate setup in a Carryall is completely
useless it my view. Mike Hitchen in England has a WC53 with a few
mods such as vertically split rear doors, but they were made by welding
up the tail and lift gates then splitting the resulting assembly
vertically. Gordon 8-)
