Hello List

Just back from 2 weeks touring the beaches, museums and memorials of Normandy.
Simply awe-inspiring.
Anyone interested in my experiences (including the fact that of the 5 jeeps
I saw in museums, 3 looked to me to be Hotchkiss dressed up as WWII) mail
me off list.
Or for that matter, anyone who knows anything about a 1944 US field
telephone EE-8-B manufactured by Kellogg, Chicago, with "5/T.R.S." and "20"
hand painted on the canvas case.

To those listers who had their MVs at theatres showing 'Pvt Ryan' - was it
arranged with the theatre or with the film distributor? It hasn't opened in
Ireland yet and, even though a lot of it was filmed here, the distributor
has no plans for a premiere and was surprised when I rang offering my jeep.

Sorry for being off-topic, but here's a small point to get me back on:
On the subject of 'ambulance jeeps', a contemporary newspaper article in
the Bayeux museum had an article about Stretcher Jeeps and called them
Streeps.
