I resently was given an M151 if I would come and get it. It was just the body
with no engine, transmission or wheels. It had been setting on the ground for
a long time. When I first went to see it you could hardly see the jeep for all
the growth around and in it. It took my son and me about eight hours to clear
away the trees and bushes, get it jacked up and put some wheels on it. It is
rusted out some but its not cut and the rusted out areas it does have are
repairable.
I am currently just finishing work on a 1973 M151A2 so I know some of the
problems I will be coming across.
This new vehicle is a 1961 Ford, M151 it has a delivery date of 1-61 on its
data plate. There is a hood number of 2B 7510. Now for my real question for the
list. The bumper markings are as follows: 3A 5040 on the left side and AD 1
on the right.
I understand that the 3A is for the Third Army the other unit marking I don't
know. Any help would be appreacated.
