Clay, there are two 3/4 bolts on the backing plate of each wheel. turn
these bolts the opposite direction of forward rotation. This will move the
brake shoes in away from the drum. After you removed the 8 nuts holding the
drive plate on, you did remove the spindle nuts and locks?
