EOD units are not part of the Corps of Engineers, but a seperate
brach. I do not know what they used in Vietnam, but today they use
mostly CUCV's and HMMWV's. A few years ago I saw some EOD guys in
Germany driving a contact maintance truck. A friend of mine has a
1008 that belonged to a Navy EOD unit, and the only mods were hazmat
placards and a wooden "bedliner". It is interesting because it has a
list of all the places it has been on the side, including Saudi
Arabia, Kuwait, Spain, Turkey, and a few other places. I belive this
truck is also for sale if anyone is interested.( I dont think it runs
but the history makes it a unique piece to save..)

If you live near a military instalation, go by and talk to the guys.
Most every post has an EOD detachment, and it has been my experience
that these guys are friendly and will awnser most "unclassified"
questions.
