>Hi List,

I have a question about the welding gas cylinders used on WW2 Diamond =

T wreckers - my first question is what colour were they painted - =

currently in Australia, we use black for oxygen and a maroon/red for =

acetylene which I suppose is based on an international code - did the =

US use this colour scheme in WW2?? The old US cylinders had screw on =

valve protectors - do current US gas cylinders still have this =

feature?

Regards,

David Robinson. Brisbane. Australia.<

The US still uses both acetylene and oxygen cylinders with screw on valve=

protectors. =

Currently acetylene is painted red and oxygen is painted green or one oth=
er
color, I can't remember what the other color is as my oxygen cylinders ar=
e
all green. I believe that the international oxygen standard color was
changed from green to some other color but I believe that during the WWII=

era the oxygen cylinders were green and the acetylene cylinders were red.=
