Gord,
All I've ever done is spray with acrylic paint (automotive stuff
,from the "touch up " spray cans is where I get it down here) and
carefully polish over the letters. Sometimes this has to be done a
couple of times if you buff through the paint. The paint has to be thin
for this to work so one or two light coats only and a bit of practice.
