For anyone concerned; my grandfather invented a 200mpg carb in the late
20's.
Before he could present it to the Military, Ford Motor Co and Texaco
bought him out.
I can't recite the mumbo jumbo, but the Oil Companies, coincidentally
started putting additives in the gas, that stopped the "pure" burn, that
his chambered pre-vapor carb did AND caused the fuel to gel and gum
after period of sitting. The old fuel, is now called "White Gas",
(campstove fuel) and can sit in a tank, for very loooong times with
gumming or gelling.
Ever see a jar of alcohol gel after 6 months in a jar? Same idea.
Apparently the "tinted" gas molecule won't ignite or release the burden
additive, to vaporize purely and won't combust purely. So, if you take
the cost of Campstove "White fuel" x 200mpg in a flathead6, with this
carb, it was then more expensive to buy and run than 15mpg in a std
carb/ tint gas car.........(at the time, imagine oil sales dropping to
900% in the depression).
Use Berryman's (red/wht/blue can) in the fuel, when you fuel up and
you're gumming/varnishing
will immediately dissipate. (stuff will take the paint off though)

Ditto the black helo (work from my past). If the general public knew
where all of the military "Research" money went, the Lefties would be
screaming at the tops of their lungs, hee hee.
There were 24 birds in the AVN units, that supported us and yep, they
are Flat Charc (blk from a more than 100 feet), complete with FLIR, TFR,
much more that I don't understand, and camera gear that make Hasselblad
jealous..........with broad mission capability.
