Hi. I am restoring a 1954 M-38A1. The body is in poor condition, and I
have the chance to buy a new reproduction body. Is this going to hurt
the value of the Jeep if I try and sell it? Also I have rebuilt a motor
that came out of a different M-38A1. Only thing is though, the rebuilt
motors mounting plate on the front of the engine does not fit the frame.
My dad took out the other jeep engine and took the plate of and put it
on the rebuilt engine. Is the a bad thing? I have over $1,000 in the
rebuilt motor and it runs great. Please tell me if I am committing a
sin, by changing the body and motor.
