[MV] Towing MV's

I really can not believe what a hullabaloo a simple towing question brought
out. Anyone with a full size pick up truck need not tow a GPW, MB, 151
series vehicle. In case you never noticed guys, they fit in the bed of your
truck. I can not count the number of 151's we hauled in the bed of an 880
Dodge. I also hauled many a GPW and MB in the bed of my own Dodge. Towing a
151 series vehicle on the ground is next to impossible. I have burned the
front tires to death doing so. They do not steer well around corners. Remove
the rear axles---my God--how foolish. Just remove the drive shaft --front
and rear, at the differential and tie it up against the body some where.
Tape the caps with electrical tape. For short tows -- up to 5 miles --just
put the vehicle in neutral. These are standard gear driven
transmissions--not automatics that need to have fluid driven through them
for cooling. Standards cool by sloshing the oil and having the air cool them
going down the road. Stop looking for problems that are not there. 1SG
