Hi List,
I was kind of surprised about the number of postings that were in answer to my
original request for information on towing my GPW.
In summary, their was about an equal number of those that felt it could be
flat towed with no changes to the drive train and no problem. This included
the person that flat towed his M-38 from Washington, DC to California with no
problem. The other postings recommended many steps to take which included
major drive train temp. modifications. I did contact Harvey's Complete Jeep
Shop in Long Beach, CA and Huntington Beach CA. They are a large Jeep repair
facility for old and new jeeps in business for 25 years. I was told by two
different people there, to place transfer case and trans in neutral and tow it
with no problem.
