As a Company Commander and Battalion Motor Officer in a Mechanized
Battalion in the Washington National Guard our training sites were
often as much as 300 miles from the armory locations.

It was very common for us to transport the M-151's in the back of 2
1/2 ton trucks to save wear and tear on the quarter tons and the
troops that had to drive them. We had a earth ramp both at the
training site and our home armory for loading and unloading. This
process worked very well.
