the offical figures bear out that the performance of turbo trucks is
much better than nonturbo....the turbos were added for more power, but
in calif i don't think you will find a nonturbo because of the clean-air
rules.

(don't be confused by the min hp ratings of these engines)

ld-465-1......126hp
ld-465-1c.....126hp
ldt-465-1c....180hp
lds-465-1.....175hp. . . . used in 5 ton
lds-465-1a....175hp. . . . "
lds-465-2.....195hp. . . . "

the difference in the lds engines is that they have oil cooling passages
in the pistons and run at a higher fuel rate ( which gives more boost
and higher exhaust temp )
you can set the fuel rate up or down on all the engines only if you know
what you are doing!!!
setting the rate up will give you more power, but past a very critical
point will severly damage the engine.
