Hi list

I asked this question earlier... unfortunately got no replies...

************
Has anyone out there got a 3 ton Thornycroft Nubian 4 x 4 TFAC4/1
If so how rare are these vehicles - how easy is it to get parts in the UK -
who deals with spares for these - does anyone have any scrap-yard leads?
************
I have the following to add....

I have the opportunity of buying one of these vehicles in bits, however it
needs a total rebuild and the refabrication of 80% of the woodwork - ie cab
and cargo tub, additionally the engine appears to be complete, but does not
run and is stored seperately to the chassis. The steelwork is generally in
good condition and the power train appears to be complete. It needs new
tyres either 1200 x 20 or 1300 x 20. Fuel pump is an "Autovac" and the
engine has a Magneto system rather than distributor. Whilst I have been told
the vehicle was made in 1944, the mechanics give the impression of something
from the 1930's.

Is it worth the effort - Is there anyone out there who has any idea about
this type of vehicle?

Any suggestions or assistance regarding this would be really useful - I'm
ready for a challenge, but I dont want to find that parts are impossible to
get. If the engine runs and spares are relatively easy to obtain - I would
guestimate a rebuild of about 2 or 3 years, otherwise... who knows?

Can any British Vehicle enthusiasts out there give me an idea what amount of
money would be acceptable to offer - pref in GBP ?

Cheers
Tim
