Just bought a 1951 M-38 project jeep(or is it Jeep?)the air intake parts
are missing from the carburetor upstream. Someone added a heater to a box
just behind and to the left of the glove box, this box has a lid that opens
from the outside just in front of the windshield, is this where the air
filter used to fit? Were these jeeps originaly 24 Volt? I think the body
tub is in fairly good shape,the fenders and hood are a little rough. I will
be ordering manuals for it, and plan to go by the 45th Infantry museum in
Oklahoma City this weekend to see if they have one I can look at. Meanwhile
I will park it behind my CCKW that I haven't worked on all year. (Just what
I need another project),but at least it is one M-38 that won't get a Pinto
engine and big mud tires. And it will look cool to have two MV's listed
under my name.
