I've driven a number of German Army Iltis' while "over there" with my Army
Reserve unit. As one who feels the HMMWV is way too wide for most of the world,
I liked them. (I would also take a Land Rover 110 over a M998). I felt they
seemed a little roll-over prone (but what wouldn't after driving a HMMWV?) but
watching the Germans and Canadians drive them at 10/10ths around curves, they
seemed pretty stable.

The Germans soldiers I spoke to felt they were a little under-powered and fairly
maintenance-intensive.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but if you can find a way to get them (intact)
into the USA, let me know!
