A 12 volt conversion of a WW2 mv is a great conversion. You should buy a 12v to
6v dropping REGULATOR for the gas gauge. JC Whitney has these for ~$16.

You also need a droping RESISTOR for the coil. You need a 12V EXTERNAL RESISTOR
coil too.

Leave the starter as is
