[MV] Split Rims

The 11x20 wheels on my M51 (M54 dump) has conventional looking split rim
wheels (snap on type retaining rings. I don't know what is safer to use.=
=

Obviously if the split rims don't separate they are perfectly safe. My
feeling is that split rims have been used by millions of vehicles for man=
y
years and if they are not badly rusted and if they are properly installed=
,
the chances for having problems are very very slight. =

The first is the snap-on-type side ring and the other is the
bolt-on-type side ring. I take it that these rims are "split rims" and
not a standard rim. The only conclusion I come up with is that the
bolt-on-type is for the 14:00x20 and the snap-on-type is for the
11:00x20. I also believe the bolt-on-type would be the safer to use.
Please let me know if I'm close or way off base. Thanks in advance.<
