You could try contacting Groucho Publishing in the Netherlands + 31 13 535
3612. This company produce some good reprints of British/Canadian WW2
manuals, together with some interesting books about British Jeep
Modifications, British Army WD Numbers and "B" Vehicle contract details. I
saw some of their books yesterday at the Stoneleigh fair here in UK
yesterday, and I recall seing a reference to Vickers Water Cooled MG
mountings (Not K Guns) on Jeeps in the Jeep modifications book - I
particularly remember it since I'd never heard of the water cooled one used
in this application.

I bought a copy of the Jeep Mod book - howver I dont have it to hand - if
you dont get anywhere with Groucho, let me know and I'll see if I can dig
out the relevant pages.

Unfortunately they're not on the web yet... however they're a nice crowd and
they're English is good.

They're also involved in organising a Military Vehicle Festival in Bossum at
the beginning of May .

I hope this is of some use

Regards

Tim

Subject: [MV] Vickers on a jeep?

List:

I have seen all types of MGs mounted on the Willys/GPW in the various
WWII photos, but don't recall if the British water cooled Vickers was
used on the jeep by any of the allies. Anyone have some info. on this?
Also if used can someone direct me to any photographs?
Sincerely
Dan Bever
