Rick Green listed several parts for sale to the MV list on 2-10-99. He
also wrote: "Let me know if you need any jeep parts, I might be able to
help out". I have a 1951 Willys M-38 jeep in pretty good shape, running
well after having several parts installed, e.g. a new fuel pump,
rebuild-kit for the carburetor, ball-joints on both sides of the front
steering sectors, tie rod ends, 4 new ND tires to correct a severe
shimmying problem, some other minor improvements such as rear- view
mirrors, etc. However, there are still at least two items which I need:
one is a complete parking or emercency brake cable, handle, and parts that
attach to the wheel housing or drum, and the other is the large complete
gas filter element and apparatus that fits down inside the under-seat gas
tank on the M38. I have tried the Military Vehicle magazine, J.C. Whitney,
Willis-Overland web site, Beachwood Canvas & Parts, and several others
listed in Hemming`s Motor News, still without much success. Can Rick or
anyone else on the list give me some tips or advice? Sometimes I feel just
like Bob Dole --- I just can`t win! --- Thanks. Bill Arnold.
