Hi Dewey (and list):

My copy of the War Department Lubrication Guide calls for 1.5 qt Gear
Oil (GO) as follows:

+32F and above: SAE 90
+32F to 0F: SAE 80
Below OF: SAE 75

This charts indicates Transmission, Transfer, and Differentials all take
the same lubricant.
